Today, we’re shining the spotlight on our incredible Python Intern, Ryan Dalton, who has been a tremendous asset to our team. To celebrate National Intern Day, we asked Ryan a few questions to learn more about his experience and aspirations.
What made you apply for an internship at Simatree?
Earlier in the fall, I had the opportunity to speak with Simatree Managing Partner, Patrick McCreesh. Our conversation was highly informative, covering the data science field and its relevance to Simatree’s work. After conducting further research on the company and reading some of the insightful publications available on their website, I knew that Simatree would be a company of great interest to me.
What have you learned so far that you didn’t expect?
I did not expect to be given the opportunity to have a lot of hands-on work with a large-scale AI project. Consistently working on this project with Ryan Kirby has given me ability to enhance my developer skills and deepen my understanding of complex AI systems.
How do you think this internship will impact your professional journey?
This internship has given me both technical and professional skills that will translate throughout my career. The technical skills I have learned are at the forefront of industry advancements, and I feel that I am contributing to making a significant impact on the company. Additionally, participating in company-wide meetings has given me valuable professional experience, enhancing my communication and collaboration abilities.
What advice would you give to future interns at our company?
To future interns, I would advise taking full advantage of the hands-on experience the company offers. Additionally, leverage the resources around you, as the people at the company possess valuable experience and have much to teach you.
Thank you, Ryan, for your hard work and enthusiasm. And to all the interns out there, thank you for your passion, drive, and willingness to learn. You are the future, and we are honored to be part of your journey.
